On 1 July 2022, Primo will take over epsotech’s 13,000 m2 factory and plastic fibre production centre.

Increased capacity

During 2021, Primo Denmark experienced increasing orders and activity, which is expected to continue throughout 2022. This increases the need for more production and storage capacity.

Primo Denmark’s Managing Director Taj Bernth says, “It’s a great advantage to take over and use the property from the plastics company epsotech Denmark A/S – which is next door to Primo Denmark – because it’s designed for plastic production. The facilities will be usable immediately."

epsotech is also pleased with the deal: "With Primo Denmark's acquisition of epsotech's buildings and fibre production, we have found the right solution where technology and location are a perfect fit for the new owners," says epsotech Group CEO Michael Hangelmann.

New knowledge about recycled plastics

By acquiring epsotech's fibre business area, Primo increases its recycled plastic production expertise. "This new knowledge within sustainable production – the recycling discard and end-of-life plastics – is of long-term and strategic value  to us as we plan to integrate it into the other business areas," says Claus Tønnesen, CEO of the Primo Group.

Production at the facility includes recycling fishing nets and ropes into monofilaments. They are used, for example, in non-woven fabric, fibre mesh, new fishing nets, and fence materials.

Work is now underway to integrate the new business and prepare production of the new facilities.
